Telangana DGP urges use of CCTV for railway safety

Hyderabad: In Telangana, Dr. Jitender, the Director General of Police, highlighted the importance of using CCTV cameras at railway stations to enhance passenger safety and prevent thefts and drug trafficking. At the State Level Security Committee for Railways meeting on Friday, he called for strict actions against crimes such as theft, suspicious deaths, crimes against women, and drug supply.

He emphasized the need for regular coordination between the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) to boost security. Dr. Jitender insisted on verifying private workers at railway premises and continuing the vigorous enforcement of Operation AAHT to fight human trafficking. He also stressed the quick filing of charge sheets against offenders and instructed officers to categorize property offenders under ‘gangs files.’

The meeting included key officials like Additional DGP (Personnel) Anil Kumar, Inspector General of Police (Road Safety & Railways) Ramesh Naidu, and Principal Chief Security Commissioner Aromasingh Thakur.
