The Election Commission of India has initiated the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 across Telangana to create an accurate, updated and error-free electoral roll. The comprehensive exercise aims to ensure that every eligible voter is registered and all electoral details are correctly recorded in the state’s voter lists.

The revision process will follow a structured timeline with house-to-house enumeration scheduled from 25 June to 24 July 2026. The Draft Electoral Roll will be published on 31 July 2026, followed by the Final Electoral Roll on 01 October 2026. This systematic approach allows sufficient time for verification and corrections before the final publication.

During the enumeration phase, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits across households to distribute and collect Enumeration Forms (EFs). Voters can also access and submit these forms digitally through the ECI App and the official website voters.eci.in. The Election Commission has clarified that no supporting documents will be collected during the enumeration phase itself.

Electors are required to submit properly filled and signed Enumeration Forms to ensure their names appear in the Draft Electoral Roll. New voters can register using Form-6, while existing voters can use Form-8 for corrections and updates to their electoral details. Those whose names do not appear in the draft roll will receive notices from Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and will have the opportunity to submit necessary supporting documents.

To ensure transparency and assist voters, Help Desks have been established at all ERO Offices, the District Election Officer (DEO) Office, and the GHMC Commissioner Office in Hyderabad District. Weekly meetings are being conducted with political parties, BLOs and Booth Level Agents (BLAs), while extensive awareness campaigns are underway across the district to inform citizens about the revision process.

The Election Commission has issued an important warning that possessing more than one voter registration is an offence punishable under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950. The commission emphasizes the need for citizens to maintain only one valid voter registration and report any duplicate entries during the revision process.
