Hyderabad:
The Government of Telangana is speeding up the process to resolve long-standing issues with Andhra Pradesh. In a meeting held in early July between Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, it was decided to form committees to address these issues.
The ministers’ committee includes Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. The official committee comprises Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, and Principal Secretary to the CM V Sheshadri.
In their July meeting, the Chief Ministers discussed several critical issues that need immediate resolution. These include the division of assets, payment of pending power dues, and the re-transfer of five villages in the Bhardachalam mandal from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana.
Sources say the government is reviewing the status of every pending issue under the AP Reorganisation Act and will prepare a status report. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has also been busy with other important matters. He has been holding meetings on Hyderabad’s development and mobilizing funds for key programs. Additionally, he has attended the Assembly session and traveled to Delhi to meet the high command for cabinet expansion and to finalize the name of the new PCC chief. This has delayed the process of resolving issues with Andhra Pradesh.
