Telangana Government Orders Conversion of VRAs’ Services

The Telangana government has issued orders to convert the services of 16,758 Village Revenue Assistants into full-time positions in suitable government departments. These assistants are under the age of 61. In addition, for the 3,797 village revenue assistants who are over 61 years old and continuing their services, the government has decided to provide compassionate appointment to their sons/daughters if they are eligible and qualified for positions such as Junior Assistant or Record Assistant.

The government explained that the new ROR Act has made significant changes in land record maintenance through the Dharani Portal. As a result, the VROs system has been abolished, and there is a need to review the setup of Village Revenue Assistants. Many representations have been made to convert their services into full-time positions and provide regular pay scales.

There are a total of 10,317 positions available for candidates with up to a 10th class qualification, with a salary range of Rs 19,000-58,850 for last grade service. For candidates with an Intermediate qualification, there are 2,761 positions available as Record Assistants or equivalent, with a salary range of Rs 22,240-67,300. Candidates with a Degree or higher qualification can apply for 3,680 positions as Junior Assistants or equivalent, with a salary range of Rs 24,280-72,850.
