Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, who is the Executive President of the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi, has spoken out against the new bus fare hikes in the twin cities. He took to ‘X’ to label the decision as harmful.
Rama Rao highlighted that fares have gone up by Rs. 10, which means passengers might face an extra Rs. 500 expense each month. He urged the Chief Minister to address how the financially struggling population will cope with this change.
He also pointed out previous increases in student bus passes and T-24 ticket prices, noting a 50% rise in minimum fares, which he believes reflects poor policy choices. He argued that these actions harm ordinary people rather than protect the institution.
