A recent Supreme Court ruling requires all teachers hired before 2011 to obtain TET qualification. This affects thousands of existing educators.

The computer-based test starts January 31, 2026. Hall tickets download from December 27, 2025. Results arrive between February 10-16, 2026.

TET certificates remain valid for life once earned. This removes previous time restrictions on qualifications.

Each paper contains 150 multiple choice questions. No marks get deducted for wrong answers. Paper 1 covers child development, languages, mathematics, and environmental studies.

Paper 2 includes child development, languages, mathematics, plus either science or social studies. Candidates choose their preferred subject combination.

Passing scores vary by category. General and EWS candidates need 60% marks. BC students require 50%. SC, ST, and Divyang candidates must achieve 40%.

The online format allows candidates to take tests from multiple centers. This improves accessibility across rural and urban areas.

Qualified teachers can then apply for permanent government positions through DSC recruitment. The state regularly conducts these hiring drives for vacant posts.
