Hyderabad: The State Government plans to provide AI-based services to 10 million citizens by 2027, said IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu. During a three-day training event for government officials, he emphasized the government’s proactive and transparent approach. With AI, the aim is to deliver services in Telangana even before citizens request them.
The government envisions Telangana as a center for a $5 billion AI industry, creating numerous job opportunities. To support this, projects like an AI City, AI University, and Telangana AI Innovation Hub are being developed to meet global standards. Sridhar Babu noted that Telangana was the first in India to launch the AI-driven Telangana Data Exchange (TGDeX), serving as an example for other states. Building on this, the government is working to make over 300 services from 20 departments accessible through AI platforms. As part of this initiative, 250 officials from various departments will receive specialized AI training. In the next three months, AI experts will mentor these officials to incorporate emerging technologies into governance and service delivery.
