Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has pledged full support for those impacted by this year’s severe floods, which are considered the worst in a century. During his visit to Kamareddy district, he praised MLA Madan Mohan for his dedication to helping those in need. Reddy highlighted that real leadership shines during difficult times.
The Chief Minister toured areas heavily damaged by the rains. He saw fields buried in sand and evaluated the condition of a bridge in Lingampet. He instructed officials to plan the repair of the bridge and to explore the possibility of building a bridge combined with a check dam.
Speaking to reporters, Reddy acknowledged the significant harm to irrigation projects, both minor and major. He pointed out that the Pocharam project remained intact, offering some relief. He promised special funds to clear sand from farmlands and assured that compensation would be provided for crop losses. “We will handle these issues,” he said, urging officials to conduct detailed assessments of the flood damage.
Reddy also focused on assisting affected groups, including farmers, students, and workers from different sectors. He committed to distributing books to students whose education was disrupted and to aiding beedi and other workers who suffered losses due to the floods.
During his speech, the Chief Minister was thankful that no lives were lost, attributing this to the swift actions of officials and local leaders. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to developing lasting solutions for the impacted regions.
