Mahabubnagar: District Collector Viziyendira Boyi has approved a request from the families displaced by the Uddandapur Reservoir project. These families had asked for land to build a temple at a site that was originally planned for an electrical sub-station. The Collector agreed to their request, showing her concern for public sentiment.

During a high-level meeting held at the Collectorate conference hall on Tuesday, the Collector told officials from various departments—including Revenue, Irrigation, Survey, and Land Records—to focus on building important infrastructure for the displaced families. These families come from areas like Vallur, Uddandapur, Thummala Kunta Thanda, Regadipatti Thanda, Chinnagutta Thanda, Shamagadda Thanda, Ontigudise Thanda, and Polepally.

Collector Boyi asked all officials to speed up the rehabilitation process. She made it clear that every eligible displaced family must be given a 300-square-yard plot of land for housing. In addition, they should have access to basic services such as Primary Health Centres, schools, Anganwadi centres, veterinary hospitals, community halls, and public parks.

She also instructed that work on drinking water pipelines under the Mission Bhagiratha scheme, internal roads, drainage systems, soak pits, and electrification must be completed quickly. Any electric poles blocking housing plots must be moved right away to prevent delays in construction.

Regarding the sub-station, the Collector ordered that it be moved to a different location. She also asked officials to conduct surveys to find more government land in case the available land is not enough for everyone who needs to be resettled.

Finally, she told officials to send in proposals immediately if there are any additional needs, so that no eligible family is left out of the resettlement plan.

The meeting was attended by Additional Collector (Revenue) Mohan Rao, Special Collector (Land Acquisition) Madhusudan Naik, RDO Naveen, and senior officials from the Irrigation, Mission Bhagiratha, Survey & Land Records, and Panchayat Raj departments.
