The Chief Minister of Hyderabad, A Revanth Reddy, has been meeting with economic experts to seek advice on maintaining financial prudence and balancing spending on welfare activities and development programs. One of these experts, former Vice Chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, met with the Chief Minister on Saturday. The discussion focused on the state government’s plan to allocate adequate funds in the new financial year to fulfill promises of six guarantees. The debt burden on the state economy was also a key topic of discussion, with Ahluwalia cautioning against taking loans liberally for projects that may not provide timely returns. The Chief Minister plans to meet with more economic experts and is considering appointing an eminent economist as an Advisor. Raghuram Rajan, former RBI Governor, is also advising the state government on putting the state economy back on track. The Chief Minister intends to invite more economic experts to the state for a meeting in the near future.
