    A group of six trainee members of the 2022 IAS batch assigned to Telangana State visited the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). Sudarshan Reddy, the managing director of HMWSSB, explained the board’s operations to the students. This included water supply to the city, sewage treatment plants (STPs), sewage treatment management, and future plans and projects. He also talked about how clean water is delivered to Hyderabad through large pipelines.

    The Revenue Director, VL Praveen Kumar, discussed the water board’s efforts to raise awareness about preventing wastage of water. He mentioned a theme park established by the board that educates visitors about rainwater conservation techniques. The park showcases various methods of rainwater harvesting that can benefit future generations.
