    Hyderabad – The Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) hosted a special training session on Tuesday to update nurses and lab technicians about the latest methods for handling Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia.

    The goal of the session was to improve how healthcare workers diagnose, treat, and prevent these serious blood disorders. The training is part of TSCS’s broader mission to boost awareness and skills among medical professionals.

    Dr. Banoth Sathyavathi, MD in Anesthesia and Deputy DM&HO of Keesara Division, Malkajgiri district, attended as the chief guest. She stressed how crucial it is for nurses and technicians to understand these conditions. She also urged them to support TSCS’s efforts in preventing these genetic diseases.

    During the event, a panel of experts led a lively discussion on the topic “Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia – Diagnosis and Management.”

    Ratnavalli Kotapalli, Vice President of TSCS
    Dr. K. Saroja, Medical Officer at TSCS

    They shared real-life medical cases and talked about the challenges of detecting and treating patients with hemoglobin disorders.

    This training session highlighted the urgent need for skilled healthcare workers who can identify and manage Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia effectively. TSCS continues to focus on education, early diagnosis, and prevention to improve the lives of patients across Telangana and beyond.
