Hyderabad: The Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) has changed the schedule for preparing and publishing voter lists in Gram Panchayats. On Monday, the SEC announced a new timeline for the draft voter list. District Panchayat officers are instructed to prepare and release the photo electoral rolls on September 6. This will include all Gram Panchayats listed in Schedule-VIII, following the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act 2018. The rolls will reflect the Assembly constituency photo electoral rolls, using July 1, 2025, as the qualifying date.
On September 6, the draft photo electoral rolls will be ready, and ward-wise lists will be displayed at both the Gram Panchayat and Mandal Praja Parishad offices. Meetings with political party representatives at the district level will occur on September 8. The same day, meetings at the mandal level will be conducted by the concerned MPDO. Objections to the arrangement of rural assembly voters into ward-wise Gram Panchayat rolls can be submitted between September 6 and 8. These objections will be reviewed by the District Panchayat Officer (DPO) on September 9. The final ward-wise photo electoral rolls will be published on September 10.
The High Court has set September 30 as the deadline for finishing the election process. The government is expected to decide on proceeding with elections in the upcoming cabinet meeting.
