Hyderabad: The Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) is gearing up for local body elections. They have now released a timetable for preparing and publishing voter lists for Gram Panchayats.
On Tuesday, the SEC announced a schedule for the draft voter lists. They instructed District Panchayat officers to prepare and release photo electoral rolls by September 2 for all Gram Panchayats. This is in accordance with the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act 2018. The voter lists will be based on Assembly constituency rolls as of July 1, 2025, and will show ward divisions.
Draft photo electoral rolls will be ready and displayed at Gram Panchayat and Mandal Praja Parishad offices on August 28. Meetings with political party representatives will occur at the district level on August 29 and at the mandal level on August 30. The period for raising objections to the ward-wise voter lists is from August 28 to 30. These objections will be addressed by August 31, and the final ward-wise photo electoral rolls will be published on September 2.
The High Court has set September 30 as the deadline to complete the election process. The government will decide on the election date in the upcoming cabinet meeting.
