In Hyderabad, there was confusion on the first day of the intermediate exam. To ensure a smooth and peaceful exam, Principal Secretary to Government (Education) Burra Venkatesham instructed TSBIE officials to prevent any issues at district levels.

A second-year intermediate student named Shiva Kumar allegedly died by suicide after being denied entry into an exam hall in Sathnala village due to being one minute late. This incident prompted Burra Venkatesham to urge students to report any grievances through helpline numbers.

During the exams, officials reported that 4,42,451 students took the second-year exams with 13,085 absentees, resulting in a 2.87% absentee rate. The exams were mostly peaceful, except for one malpractice case in Khammam district.
