    The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has launched the ‘General Route Pass’ for the first time for the convenience of commuters within Greater Hyderabad. The company providing special concessions to passengers with T-24, T-6 and F-24 tickets has designed this route pass for those traveling short distances. This pass, which is applicable for travel within 8 km, will be available to passengers from 27th of this month

    TSRTC has fixed the price of Rs.600 for City Ordinary Route Bus Pass and Rs.1000 for Metro Express Route Pass applicable for a month. In addition to this price, an additional fee of Rs.50 has to be paid for the ID card. First, this pass will be given to passengers on 162 routes in Hyderabad. The company has provided an unlimited number of buses within the 8 km radius of these route passes. You can travel with this pass on Sundays as well as holidays.

    General bus ticket is available for passengers in Hyderabad. The price for Ordinary Bus Pass is Rs.1150 and Metro Express Bus Pass is Rs.1300. These passes can be used to travel from anywhere in all buses plying within the city suburban area.

    The survey conducted by the organization revealed that only those going to distant places are buying these passes. It has been found that employees and small traders traveling short distances are reaching their destinations by alternative routes instead of buses. TSRTC has designed the General Route Pass to reach those traveling short distances

    TSRTC has already announced several concessions to reduce the financial burden on commuters in Greater Hyderabad. TSRTC Chairman Bajireddy Govarthan and MD VC Sajjanar said that T-24, T-6 and F-24 tickets have been made available. He said that they are getting a good response from the people… In this background, the company has started the General Route Pass to reach the passengers more.

    He said that in the state only route passes are given to students…for the first time the organization has decided to give them to ordinary passengers. Usually Rs.800 for Ordinary Route Pass and Rs.1200 for Metro Express Route Pass. He said that after providing a discount of Rs.200, city ordinary route bus pass for Rs.600 and metro express route pass for Rs.1000.

    In Hyderabad, there are currently 1.30 lakh general metro passes and 40 thousand ordinary passes. Similar to them, passengers are requested to use the newly introduced route pass.
