Two candidates in Hyderabad booked for MCC violation: Police

Hyderabad city police have filed cases against two candidates, one from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for allegedly committing wrongful restraint, public nuisance, and violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

The accused individuals, Vanga Madhusudan Reddy and Srinivas Reddy, who is a corporator of the BJP, were reportedly going door-to-door campaigning in Maruthi Nagar, Champapet area without permission from the L B Nagar Returning Officer.

The incident took place on Tuesday and a complaint was filed by Bagalkote Srikanth, an office superintendent in Saroor Nagar Circle. The police have registered a case under sections 341, 188, 171(H) IPC, and Section 21/76 CP Act.
