Two Workers Electrocuted While Removing Signboard in Hyderabad

In a tragic incident in Hyderabad, two workers lost their lives due to electrocution while removing a signboard at a commercial building in Habsiguda on Friday night.

The victims, identified as J. Balu (36) and G. Mallesh (25), were tasked with removing the signboard of a company. The incident occurred at the Varalaxmi Arcade building, where Tati Ravi was preparing to open an office on the third floor. The two workers were carrying out the job under his direction.

According to Nacharam Sub-Inspector B. Venkataiah, the workers tied the signboard to wires and began pulling it down when it accidentally slipped and fell onto nearby power cables. This caused an electric shock, and both men were electrocuted and collapsed on the terrace of the building.

Emergency services, including the fire department, electricity department, and police, arrived at the scene after being informed of the incident. The power supply was turned off, and the injured men were rushed to the hospital. However, doctors declared them dead upon arrival.

The police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the matter.
