The Tree Protection Committee (TPC) has been criticised for not doing enough to safeguard trees and lacking transparency. Recent incidents of extensive tree felling in Hitech City and Secunderabad Railway station have sparked outrage. Concerns have also been raised about the lack of accurate data on translocated trees and the need for diversity in tree planting efforts. Environmental enthusiasts are calling for a strong committee to be established by the state government to prioritise tree preservation and replacement measures.
