    Hyderabad:

    Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, has praised the Union Budget 2024-25, calling it a highly balanced budget aimed at building ‘Atmanirbar Bharat’ (self-reliant India).

    He mentioned that the budget includes strong measures to boost domestic production and offers tax savings for the middle and upper-middle classes. “Besides, it gives a fillip to growth,” he said.

    Reddy emphasized that the budget is socially inclusive and benefits various sections of society, from street vendors to farmers to industrialists. He highlighted that it reflects PM Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas’ (collective efforts, inclusive growth).

    Thanking Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting the NDA’s 11th consecutive full budget, Reddy noted that it is the first budget in their third term. He said it focuses on empowering the poor, leveraging youth power, transforming farmers’ productivity, empowering women (Nari Shakti), and meeting taxpayers’ expectations.

    The budget provides Rs 10 lakh crore to address the housing needs of one crore urban poor and middle-class families. It also aims to empower four crore youth through focused employment packages.

    For agriculture and allied sectors, Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been allocated. Additionally, Rs 3 lakh crore is dedicated to schemes benefiting women and girls, emphasizing women’s empowerment.
