UoH PhD Scholar Selected as One of 20 Global Participants at UK Conference

Prajna Priyadarshini Das, a PhD scholar from the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been selected to participate in a summer conference. This event, focused on ‘Plant-Microbe Interactions,’ is organized by The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) in Norwich, United Kingdom.

The conference began on July 15 and will end on July 26. Prajna was chosen along with 20 early-career researchers from different countries around the world.

This summer conference includes 20 international delegates, eight keynote speakers, and 10 local speakers. They will discuss the latest techniques and advanced methods in plant health research. The TSL conference is well-known for providing participants with cutting-edge research updates, interactive sessions, lab exposure, and data workshops.

Prajna works in Professor Irfan Ahmad Ghazi’s lab at UoH. Her research focuses on identifying genes involved in Bacterial Leaf Blight (BLB) resistance in different rice varieties. She presented a flash talk titled ‘Integrative analysis of rice bacterial blight resistance mechanisms.’
