Congress workers in Warangal staged a protest at the Mills Colony Police Station on Sunday, demanding action against BRS workers. The BRS workers had allegedly obstructed and damaged the campaign vehicle of Congress candidate Konda Surekha near the under bridge area. Despite having valid permission for their vehicle, the police seized it and assaulted the driver.
In response to this incident, Congress workers gathered at the police station and protested. Konda Surekha also approached Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jha to file a complaint. There was tension at the police station for a while, but Assistant Commissioner of Police Kishan managed to pacify the Congress activists and release their vehicle. The police arrested one of the BRS workers responsible for attacking the vehicle.
In another incident later that afternoon, Konda Surekha had a confrontation with Inspector Srinivas of Inthezargunj. This was because Srinivas had allegedly assaulted and arrested Congress workers from the 12th Division.
