Vibrant celebration of Taksh festival brings OU to life

Osmania University celebrated its 107th anniversary with a series of events called ‘Osmania Taksh 2024’. The theme was “Connect and Reconnect to Grow,” and students, faculty, and alumni gathered to honor this milestone.

Each department hosted activities on April 25 during the “Open House Day.” The Philosophy Department had “The Taosophy Path of Knowledge,” the Marathi Department had a book exhibition, and the Journalism Department organized “Taksh Ink and Pixels.”

The English Department held an event called “Beyond the Bard: Shakespeare’s Timelessness,” celebrating the enduring relevance of Shakespeare’s works. There were literary-themed games and trivia sessions about Shakespeare’s life.

Students from different colleges participated in the event, including St. Francis and Nizam College. They showcased their understanding of Shakespeare’s life and works, deepening their appreciation for his contributions to literature and culture.

MA English students performed a contemporary adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, offering a fresh perspective on the timeless tale. The Open House Day highlighted the talents and interests within each department, promoting community and collaboration.

Overall, Osmania Taksh 2024 was a platform for celebration, reflection, and learning. It emphasized the importance of education and cultural exchange in shaping the university’s future.
