A 2018 batch IPS officer named Sneha Mehra has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) in Hyderabad by the State government. The Election Commission of India requested the State government to transfer P Sai Chaitanya, who was the previous DCP (South), and provide a list of three IPS officers as potential replacements.

After receiving the list of three IPS officers from the State government, the ECI selected Sneha Mehra to take over as the new DCP (South). The government instructed her to immediately assume the responsibilities of the position and submit a compliance report.
