Mahabubnagar: “We should not remember great leaders only through garlanded portraits and speeches,” said Palamuru University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.N. Srinivas. Speaking at a special event celebrating the birth anniversaries of iconic leaders, he encouraged students to learn from their lives and follow their examples.
Prof. Srinivas addressed students and faculty as the chief guest at the event, organized by the SC/ST and BC Cells on campus. He explained that the best way to honor these leaders is by understanding their values—such as dedication, courage, patriotism, and compassion. “These leaders moved forward with strong determination,” he said. “By reading about their lives, we can learn important lessons to become better people.”
He encouraged students to follow the values and teachings of these leaders in their everyday lives. “Let these celebrations be more than just formal events. Use them to make a change in yourself and in society. Let their words guide your journey,” he added.
Other speakers at the event also motivated the youth to take responsibility for building a better future. They emphasized that even a small positive action can make a big difference. “Change starts with you. If you change, society changes,” they said, urging students to carry forward the legacy of national icons with confidence and honesty.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Mahabubnagar Superintendent of Police Smt. D. Janaki, IPS, University Registrar Prof. P. Ramesh Babu, SC/ST Cell Director Dr. N. Kumaraswamy, and BC Cell Director Dr. K. Praveen. College staff, administrators, and a large group of students also participated with enthusiasm.
The celebration became a moment of inspiration and reflection. It reminded everyone present of the importance of living by the values of great leaders and working together to create a better society.
