Telangana has taken a big step in attracting global investments. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy led the “Telangana Rising” delegation to the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. At this major international event, he showcased the state’s potential in various industries and encouraged global businesses to invest in Telangana.
During his speech, Mr Reddy proudly announced that Telangana is the first Indian state to take part in World Expo 2025. He said this is a proud moment and spoke about strengthening the long-standing friendship between Telangana and Japan. He called for a long-term partnership based on innovation and sustainable development.
The Chief Minister highlighted Telangana’s business-friendly policies, stable government, and excellent infrastructure as key reasons why global companies are showing interest. He invited Japanese firms to set up their manufacturing units in Hyderabad and use Telangana as a launchpad for entering not just the Indian market, but also the global market.
Mr Reddy said this visit could be the beginning of a new chapter in Telangana–Japan relations. He compared it to a sunrise over Osaka Bay, symbolizing a hopeful and bright future. He called for joint efforts between Telangana, Osaka, and international partners to build something remarkable together.
The Chief Minister shared that a new 30,000-acre ‘Future City’ is being developed near Hyderabad. This city will focus on eco-friendly innovations, energy solutions, smart transport, and recycling practices. He also announced plans to build an industrial park in partnership with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation as part of this project.
He also spoke about a fast-developing area between Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road, Radial Roads, and the upcoming Regional Ring Road. This area is expected to become a hub for industries like electric vehicles, energy storage, electronics, semiconductors, and aerospace. To support international trade, Telangana will also set up a dry port with access to a nearby sea port.
On the environmental front, Mr Reddy mentioned the plans to clean and develop the Musi River. A 55-kilometre-long green walkway is planned along the river. He also said Telangana can learn a lot from how Japanese cities like Tokyo and Osaka are planned and maintained.
At the event, Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, emphasized the state’s achievements in IT and biotechnology. He also spoke about the growing potential in aerospace, electronics, and textiles.
Jayesh Ranjan, the Principal Secretary for Industries, talked about the Young India Skills University. This new university will focus on high-quality skill development and discipline. It aims to improve job opportunities and support business growth in the region.
Telangana’s presence at the World Expo 2025 shows its growing international reputation. It marks an important step toward attracting more investments and building strong global partnerships.
