Vietnam Airlines has launched a new direct flight connecting Hyderabad and Hanoi, making travel between India and Vietnam easier. The service began on May 7 and is operated in partnership with GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL).
Flights will run three times a week—on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The plane leaves Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 11:45 PM and lands at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 5:25 AM local time. The return flight, VN-985, departs Hanoi at 7:15 PM and arrives in Hyderabad at 10:15 PM.
Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GHIAL, shared his excitement about the new route. He said it will make travel easier for both business and leisure passengers. He also noted that this connection boosts Hyderabad’s role as a major air travel hub in South India, while also strengthening India-Vietnam relations.
Nguyen Trung Hieu, the Country Manager of Vietnam Airlines in India, called South India a key market. He praised Hyderabad for its fast-growing tech industry and cultural richness. He said the airline is happy to offer direct access to this important city as part of its growing presence in India.
Abhishek Goyal, CEO of Aeroprime Group, which represents Vietnam Airlines in India, welcomed the launch. He said the new route shows the airline’s commitment to expanding services and connecting more destinations. Goyal believes the direct flight will boost both tourism and business ties between the two countries.
With this new route, travelers now have a faster and more convenient way to explore Vietnam from Hyderabad, opening doors for stronger economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges.
