In Yerrupalem, a village located in the Khammam district of India, a pigeon sighting has caused concern among locals. On Thursday, villagers spotted the bird and captured images of it on their mobile phones, which they then shared on social media. The images quickly went viral, leading to speculation about the pigeon’s origins and purpose.

Upon closer inspection, the villagers noticed an identification mark on the bird’s feathers that read ‘Delta 1000 KM.’ This raised concerns that the pigeon may have been used for spying, as there have been reports in recent years of similar incidents along the Indo-Pak border. The villagers managed to capture the bird and handed it over to the village secretary, who alerted the police.

Sub-Inspector Yerrupalem Suresh investigated the matter and discovered that the bird had come from Thanjavur in the Tamil Nadu state. It is believed that the pigeon was participating in a bird racing event, which involves racing homing pigeons over long distances. It is possible that the bird lost its way and ended up in Yerrupalem.

The incident has left villagers feeling uneasy about potential security threats posed by birds, and highlights the importance of being vigilant about unusual sightings in one’s surroundings.
