Hyderabad: In an effort to keep Kapra Lake clean and protected, a group of volunteers held a cleanliness and awareness drive on Sunday. The event was organized by the Kapra Revival Group along with several other organizations.

During the drive, volunteers collected a full truckload of plastic and cloth waste from the lakebed. In total, they removed about 88.5 kilograms of trash. Groups involved in the effort included students from NIPER, High Altitude Coffee, ECIL Runners, and Trubot.

Local residents have been regularly working to maintain the cleanliness of Kapra Lake. A member of the Kapra Revival Group said, “The main goal of this drive is to save the lake. We are doing it as a symbolic act to urge the State government to take steps to restore it.”
