In Warangal, rumors about COVID-19 cases caused concern among people in the tri-cities of Warangal, Hanumakonda, and Kazipet. However, district medical officials confirmed these rumors were false. News circulated on social media claimed that six individuals were being treated for the virus at a private hospital near MGM Hospital. But, B. Sambasiva Rao, the Warangal District Medical and Health Officer, clarified there are no such cases in the city.

No coronavirus cases have been reported at MGM Hospital. The hospital is fully prepared to manage COVID-19 patients, equipped with special wards, oxygen flow meters, and ventilators, according to Dr. Shasi Kumar, the hospital’s Resident Medical Officer. Some reports suggest that doctors in private hospitals have been causing unnecessary panic by suggesting that patients with coughs and colds might have the virus.

Additionally, a two-day mock drill started on June 4 to assess hospital readiness. This involves compiling a detailed report on hospital facilities and available medicines for handling COVID-19. The information will be uploaded to the Integrated Health Information Platform for government review.
