Scam Alert: Fake Electricity Bill Messages in Hyderabad

People in Hyderabad are being warned about a new scam involving fake electricity bill messages. Scammers are sending messages through WhatsApp, claiming that electricity will be cut off unless the user pays immediately. These messages often contain fake payment links or ask for personal bank details.

The Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has issued a public alert. They are asking people not to share personal information or respond to these messages. TGSPDCL made it clear that they never ask for bank details through WhatsApp or any unofficial channels.

TGSPDCL also stated that they do not disconnect power supply at night, which is something the scammers falsely claim to scare people.
