Residents in several important areas of the city should prepare for a temporary stop in drinking water supply. This is due to necessary repairs on the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project (KDWSP) Phase 3 pipeline. A significant leak was found in the 2375 mm diameter pipeline between Kodandapur and Godakondla, needing urgent attention.
To fix the leak and avoid more issues, officials will replace faulty air valves, gate valves, and other broken parts. The repair will take 36 hours, starting at 6:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2025, and ending at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
During this time, the water supply will be stopped under the Phase 3 Ring Main 1 reservoir network. Many residential and commercial areas will be affected. Zone 1 includes Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, Ayyappa Society, and Kavuri Hills. Zone 2 covers Prashashan Nagar, Filmnagar, Jubilee Hills, TattiKhana, Bhojagutta, Shaikpet, Hakimpet, Karwan, Mehdipatnam, Asif Nagar, Golconda, and Langar House. Zone 3 impacts Durga Nagar, Budwel, Suleman Nagar, Golden Heights, 9 Number, Kismatpur, Gandhanguda, Bandlaguda, Shastripuram, Allabanda, Madhuban, and Dharmasai (Shamshabad). Zone 4 involves Sahebnagar, Autonagar, Saroor Nagar, Vasavi Nagar, Nagole, NTR Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Devender Nagar, and Uppal. Zone 5 affects Snehapuri, Bharath Nagar, Rampalli, Boduppal, Chengicherla, Manikchand, Mallikarjun Nagar, Peerzadiguda, and Pedda Amberpet.
Officials advise residents in these areas to store enough water ahead of time and use it carefully during the maintenance. This 36-hour interruption is necessary to keep the system stable and ensure reliable service in the future. People are encouraged to plan to avoid inconvenience. While this may cause temporary problems for homes, offices, and businesses, officials promise the repairs will make the pipeline more reliable and prevent future issues. Residents should stay informed through official updates and follow water usage guidelines until the service is fully restored.
