KT Rama Rao, the working president of BRS, urged party members to channel their frustration with Congress into votes. He encouraged them to focus on the Jubilee Hills constituency for the next month.
Speaking to the party cadre in Rehmat Nagar, Jubilee Hills, Rama Rao emphasized the importance of hard work and resilience. He described these qualities as vital for BRS’s triumph. He also paid tribute to Maganti Gopinath, a supportive figure for women, who passed away young. Rama Rao called for unity in supporting Gopinath’s family.
He instructed party workers to visit every home to share the truth. Rama Rao mentioned distributing ‘Baki Cards’ to those misled by Congress. He highlighted Congress’s unfulfilled promises, like Rs 48,000 for the elderly, a tola of gold for 1.67 crore brides, and Rs 40,000 for women under the Mahalakshmi scheme.
Rama Rao framed the by-election as a contest between the ‘car’ and ‘bulldozer’, urging support for Maganti Sunita Gopinath. He noted the interest of various drivers in Jubilee Hills and criticized Congress for unkept promises, such as welfare boards for auto drivers. He accused Congress of betraying women and the poor, who suffered under its governance.
Reflecting on past elections, Rama Rao reminded that KCR had strong backing in Hyderabad, where Congress didn’t win a single seat. He questioned the legacy of Indiramma’s rule, associating it with the demolition of homes and hardships for the needy. He suggested Congress’s six guarantees would only be realized if they lost in Jubilee Hills.
Rama Rao criticized the Chief Minister for making derogatory comments and alleged manipulation of political appointments, citing Mohammed Azharuddin‘s MLC seat as a strategic move. He claimed 43 fake votes were registered at one address, urging party members to canvass with ‘Baki Cards’ and encourage genuine voting to prevent fraud.
