Hyderabad: Water supply will be interrupted in several areas of the city for 15 hours on Saturday, from 6 am to 9 pm.
Officials from the Hyderabad Water Board said the disruption is due to repair work being done on a major water pipeline. This pipeline is part of the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme, which provides water to the greater Hyderabad area.
The repair work is taking place at Shahpur Nagar on a 1,200 mm diameter gravity pipeline that runs from Hydernagar to Alwal. Because of this, water supply will be affected in the following areas: Shapur Nagar, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Kalavati Nagar, HMT Society, HAL Colony, TSIIC Colony, Gajularamaram, Sri Sai Hills, Devender Nagar, Kailash Hills, Balaji Layout, and Kaiser Nagar.
Residents in these areas are advised to make necessary arrangements and store enough water in advance.
