Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner, RV Karnan, has instructed officials to quickly resolve public complaints shared during the Prajavani program. On Monday, city residents gathered at the GHMC headquarters to voice their concerns. Karnan emphasized the need for department officials to carefully examine these issues and address them promptly.
During the Prajavani program, GHMC received 165 complaints citywide, covering topics like town planning and street lighting. At the GHMC headquarters alone, there were 74 complaints. These included 35 related to the Town Planning Department, 7 in the Tax Section, 5 each in Engineering and Sanitation, 4 in Electrical, 3 in UBD, and 2 each in Health, Administration, and Transport. There were also individual complaints for Revenue, Lakes, UCD, Projects, HMWSSB, and the AC Legal Charminar Zone. The phone-in segment of Prajavani noted 2 requests, which were sent to the appropriate departments.
In the six GHMC zones, a total of 91 complaints were filed. Kukatpally Zone had 47, followed by 18 in Serilingampally, 14 in Secunderabad, 7 in LB Nagar, 4 in Charminar, and 1 in Khairtabad.
Commissioner Karnan stressed the importance of officials addressing citizen complaints with accountability. He urged department heads to concentrate on solving these issues diligently.
Several officials were present, including Additional Commissioners Raghu Prasad, Venugopal, Yadagiri Rao, Satyanarayana, Venugopal Reddy, Nalini Padmavati, Geetha Radhika, Mangatayaru, CE Ratnakar, Vigilance Additional SP Srinivas, Town Planning CCP Srinivas, Additional CCPs Venkanna, Gangadhar, Pradeep, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Padmaja, UBD Director Venkateswarlu, Deputy CEO Panasa Reddy, Housing EEOs PV Ravinder and Rajeshwara Rao, Advertisement Officer, and Food Safety Officer Mutyam Raju.
