Mahabubnagar, Telangana — A serious crash was narrowly avoided early Monday morning near the Makthal bus stand in Narayanpet district. A private Orange Travels bus hit a parked lorry from behind at around 4:30 a.m., causing panic among the passengers.
The bus was traveling from Raichur to Hyderabad when the accident happened. The lorry was standing still on the roadside. The speeding bus crashed into its rear, damaging the front of the bus badly.
There were about 50 passengers on board. Fortunately, the driver acted fast and hit the brakes in time, which helped prevent a more serious accident. Only two people suffered minor injuries. They received first aid at a nearby hospital.
After the crash, local police quickly arrived at the scene. They managed the situation and cleared the road. Traffic was briefly delayed but returned to normal once the damaged bus was removed.
Authorities have started an investigation to find out what caused the crash. They are looking into whether it was due to driver error or a mechanical failure.
