Nagarkurnool district has earned top honors in Telangana for its outstanding performance in implementing AI-based classroom teaching. All 22 selected schools in the district achieved 100% online student registration, making Nagarkurnool the best-performing district in the state.
To celebrate this success, Yogita Rana, the Principal Secretary of the State Education Department, honored Ramesh Kumar, the District Educational Officer (DEO) of Nagarkurnool. She presented him with a shawl and a memento during a recent DEOs’ meeting held in Hyderabad.
This achievement is part of a pilot project launched by the state government in the last academic year. The initiative introduced Artificial Intelligence-assisted learning for students in classes 3, 4, and 5. In Nagarkurnool alone, 285 students were registered and actively participated in the program.
Alongside Nagarkurnool, other districts such as Ranga Reddy, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Kamareddy also reached full student participation in AI-enabled teaching. Their DEOs received recognition and appreciation for their efforts as well.
During the event, Ramesh Kumar thanked sectoral officers, mandal education officials, headmasters, and teachers for their dedication. He praised their teamwork and commitment, which made the project a success.
He also encouraged educators to extend AI-based learning to more schools in the coming year. According to him, AI tools have already shown a positive impact on students’ academic development, especially in improving Telugu reading skills and math proficiency.
Kumar said both parents and students have responded positively to the new teaching methods. He believes this innovation could increase student enrollment in government schools in the future, making quality education more accessible to all.
