Hyderabad: AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has officially announced that his party will not contest the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election. The decision ends days of speculation over whether the party would field a candidate from the constituency, which has a significant Muslim voter base of around 1.6 lakh.

Sources within the party said the leadership has decided to stay away from this bypoll to avoid splitting votes that could influence the final outcome. Earlier, names like Faraz Rasheed, Mohammed Naseeruddin, and Anwar Sadad were rumored to be under consideration, but the party leadership chose not to enter the fray.

With AIMIM out of the race, the main contest is expected between BRS candidate Maganti Sunita, Congress’s Naveen Yadav, and BJP’s Deepak. An independent candidate, Salman from HYC, is also contesting and drawing some attention.
