Hyderabad: VC Sajjanar, the City Police Commissioner, has issued a strong warning to social media creators. He cautions against making or distributing inappropriate videos featuring minors.
On Thursday, Sajjanar posted on X (previously known as Twitter), urging people to report such content. Reports can be made via the helpline number 1930 or the National Cyber Crime Portal.
Sajjanar expressed concern about the rising trend of using children for online fame. He questioned, “What are we becoming when values fade for views? Is it right to jeopardize children’s futures for likes?”
He stressed that involving minors in such content is child exploitation. This is punishable under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Juvenile Justice Act.
Sajjanar advised creators to focus on positive, value-rich content that sets a good example for youth.
He also urged parents to monitor their children’s online activities closely, keeping them safe from harmful materials.
