A significant event took place in Muchhonipalli, a village in Gattu Mandal of the Gadwal constituency, where a new statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, was unveiled. The ceremony attracted many leaders, social activists, and villagers.

Mandakrishna Madiga, a Padma Shri Awardee and the founder-president of MRPS, was a notable guest, along with R. Kishore, a senior leader from the BRS Party in Jogulamba Gadwal District. Both leaders honored the statue by placing garlands and paying tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.

In his speech, Mandakrishna Madiga described Dr. Ambedkar as a “walking encyclopedia” and a symbol of progress and education. He spoke about Ambedkar’s challenging childhood, where he faced societal discrimination but chose education as his path to empowerment. Despite societal ridicule, Ambedkar became a respected figure, dreaming of a society free from caste and religious biases.

Sarithamma, a former Zilla Parishad Chairperson and Congress leader, honored Mandakrishna Madiga with a special ceremony. She shared that Dr. Ambedkar was a national leader, not limited to one community. His ability to oppose oppression with intellect, rather than violence, set him apart. Ambedkar’s journey from facing discrimination to drafting the Constitution was a lesson for all, she added.

Sarithamma expressed concerns about the inadequate application of the Constitution today, warning of potential systemic issues. She emphasized that economic factors underpin all human relations and urged the marginalized to pursue knowledge. Ambedkar’s life, she said, offers guidance to every citizen.
