Hyderabad: Sabyasachi Ghosh, the State Special Chief Secretary to Animal Husbandry, has asked officials to create a five-year action plan and detailed project report. This plan will focus on providing free fodder seeds to livestock farmers in the state.
On Tuesday, Ghosh held a State-level executive committee meeting for the National Livestock Mission (NLM). The meeting included district veterinary officers and senior officials from the Animal Husbandry Department. It took place at the Directorate of Animal Husbandry.
The Telangana State Seed Development Corporation, along with private organizations, has been tasked with reviewing and studying the projects. Based on their findings, they will submit a detailed report.
Banks have agreed to provide loans for various projects under the NLM-EDP (National Livestock Mission—Entrepreneurship Development Programme). These include 67 sheep and goat projects, three poultry projects, and 412 other projects that have already received approval in principle. Field-level officials have collected details and recommended these projects for approval at the central level.
Once the central committee gives its approval, the projects will begin. Officials have been instructed to inform beneficiaries that only approved projects will receive subsidies.
Additionally, all documents from applicants under the NLM scheme have been carefully reviewed. Livestock owners will also be educated about the scheme and supported in their development efforts.
