Adilabad: An awareness event took place at RIMS Medical College in Adilabad on Monday. The program focused on the dangers of ragging, drug abuse, and eve-teasing.
Speaking at the event, Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhil Mahajan encouraged the students to focus on their education. He urged them to work hard and help improve the image of Adilabad district.
SP Mahajan stressed that ragging is a serious crime. He reminded students that many innocent lives have been lost in the country because of ragging incidents.
He warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found involved in ragging activities. He clearly stated that ragging must not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The SP also spoke about the dangers of drug addiction. He advised students to stay away from drugs and harmful substances like ganja.
He highlighted that educated youth have a big role to play in building a strong and modern India. Staying away from drugs is an important part of that responsibility.
SP Mahajan strongly urged students not to try or use drugs at any time.
The program also addressed the serious issue of eve-teasing. SP Mahajan explained the support available for women facing harassment.
He assured that the Adilabad She Team is always ready to help women in emergencies. Students and women facing any issues can reach out to the She Team for assistance.
Many officials attended the event, including Adilabad DSP L Jeevan Reddy, Second Town Inspector CH Karunakara Rao, and College Director Jai Singh Rathod. Faculty members, professors, students, and other staff were also present.
