Hyderabad: A large number of Congress members who are hoping to get positions in the government gathered around Health Minister Damodara Raja Narsimha and PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud. They came together as part of the Congress party’s new program called ‘MukhaMukhi’ (Meet Your Minister), which aims to listen to people’s problems and try to solve them.
This program, which takes place twice a week, is similar to the ‘Prajavani’ program. It has become a way for party members and the general public to share their concerns, with many hoping for administrative roles. Hundreds of people came to the Gandhi Bhavan, creating a lively atmosphere. One person, who had hoped to get a ticket for the Assembly elections, said, “I tried hard but didn’t get recognized. However, I’m not giving up. Maybe I’ll get lucky in 2025 as an MLC.”
On the first day of the program, about 300 applications were handed in by individuals and organizations. Many of these issues were related to the health department. People also raised concerns about government orders, land disputes, job transfers, employment, ration cards, and housing under the Indiramma scheme. It was reported that over 10% of the problems were solved after the Minister spoke with officials, especially regarding matters at Gandhi and Osmania hospitals, and some pending issues at police stations.
The event lasted for four hours, starting at 11 AM and continuing until 3:30 PM. Special counters were set up to help women, disabled individuals, and senior citizens submit their applications. After the event, the party staff organized and computerized the applications. These applications will be reviewed by the PCC leadership before being sent to the relevant ministers for further action.
PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud said, “This initiative shows the Congress government’s dedication to solving people’s problems. The program will continue, with ministers available to the public and party workers every Wednesday and Friday.”
After the event, Health Minister Damodara Raja Narsimha praised the program as a big step forward and urged people to make use of it. He explained that the government wants to close the gap between the public and the administration. He promised that all the issues people submit will be sent to the right departments and solved as quickly as possible. “We will address all kinds of issues, whether they come from ordinary citizens or party members. Such programs didn’t exist in Telangana before, but now the government is focused on hearing people’s problems,” he said.
