Hyderabad: On Thursday, supporters of leaders who were not chosen for cabinet positions voiced their concerns to PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud. Individuals from the Munnuru Kapu, Yadav, and Golla Kuruma communities expected cabinet representation but were left out. Followers of Govt Whips Beerla Ilaiah and Aadi Srinivas demanded inclusion in the cabinet, especially with three positions still available.

After meeting Mahesh Goud, Beerla Ilaiah spoke to the media at Gandhi Bhavan. He highlighted that only the Congress could achieve social justice. Ilaiah recalled that under United Andhra Pradesh, the Golla and Kuruma communities were always included in the cabinet. He pointed out that Telangana has 22 lakh Yadavs and 6 lakh Kurumas. Ilaiah urged the PCC to ensure Gollas and Kurumas receive significant roles such as cabinet positions, a government advisor, an MLC, and other key party posts including five corporation chairs and five commission members.

They felt that the Backward Classes (BCs) received fair treatment, but the Gollas and Kurumas did not. Ilaiah commended CM Revanth Reddy for prioritizing BC, SC, and ST communities in government and party roles.

He reminded the PCC chief of his promise to offer opportunities to Gollas and Kurumas in future party roles.

Meanwhile, leaders from the Munnuru Kapu group insisted that Aadi Srinivas should be appointed to one of the three vacant cabinet positions. Representatives from Munnuru Kapu and Aadi Srinivas’s Vemulawada constituency also met with Mahesh Kumar Goud at Gandhi Bhavan. They emphasized their significant role in the Telangana movement and in bringing Congress to power in 2023.

Additionally, Muslim leaders expressed disappointment over the absence of a Muslim representative in the cabinet. They remain hopeful that soon, a Muslim leader will be included, specifically to manage Minority Welfare.
