Hyderabad: A group of 19 members from 13 Australian institutions recently visited Hyderabad. Their goal was to showcase Australia’s strengths in job training, green technology, and infrastructure. The visit was organised by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). It aimed to build partnerships and improve understanding between Australian and Indian institutions, universities, and businesses.

The delegation started their tour on April 1 in New Delhi, where they launched the Australia-India Skills Summit 2025. This summit took place across three cities: New Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad.

During the event, there were sessions focused on leadership, updates on the job market, visits to key sites, policy discussions, business meetings, and networking opportunities.

Vik Singh, Austrade’s Trade and Investment Commissioner, said that Australia is known for its high-quality job training and education. He explained that their training programs are built with input from industries to meet real-world needs. He added that the delegation brought together experts from both countries to share ideas and best practices.

Singh also mentioned that Australia’s job training sector includes public technical institutes (known as TAFEs), universities that offer both academic and vocational courses, private training companies, online education platforms, and corporate trainers.

As India works toward becoming the world’s top hub for skilled workers, Singh said that strong partnerships with countries like Australia will help prepare Indian workers for the future.
