Hyderabad – The Telangana State Government has named four new officials to the State Information Commission under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
Among the new appointees are Boreddy Ayodhya Reddy, a senior journalist and the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) to the Chief Minister, and PV Srinivasa Rao, another experienced journalist. The government also selected Mohsina Parveen and Deshala Bhoopal to serve as RTI Commissioners.
These appointments had been delayed for some time. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma had asked for more details about the qualifications of the candidates before giving approval. That caused a hold-up in the process.
Earlier, the state had already appointed Chandrashekhar Reddy, a senior officer from the Indian Forest Service (IFS), as the Chief Information Commissioner.
With all positions now filled, the commission is expected to function more efficiently and help improve transparency in governance across the state.
