Hyderabad – After a long wait, the Telangana Private Degree and PG College Management Association (TPDPMA) has officially ended its 40-day strike. The decision came after a key assurance from Professor V Balakista Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana Council of Higher Education.
Professor Reddy met with state officials and explained the severe financial crisis many private Degree and PG colleges have been facing. He highlighted how delays in releasing the Recurring Teaching Funds (RTF) were hurting the functioning of these institutions.
Following his appeal, the Chief Minister held a meeting on Monday and instructed officials to release the pending funds. The government promised to clear the dues within three days.
After receiving this commitment, TPDPMA announced that it would now fully support all university semester examinations, which are set to begin on May 14. The association said it was relieved and thankful that the government had finally acknowledged the funding issues.
Professor Reddy noted that the Chief Minister responded positively to his concerns. He urged college managements, landlords, and teaching staff to come together and help restore normal academic operations swiftly.
He also assured everyone that he would personally oversee the release of the promised funds, ensuring that no further delays disrupt the education system.
This move brings much-needed relief to thousands of students and faculty across Telangana, as colleges prepare to resume regular classes and exams.
