Wanaparthy: Authorities have shut down several unauthorized clinics in Wanaparthy during a special inspection held on Monday. A team led by district health officials discovered that many of these facilities were operating without following government rules.
The clinics, run by Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) and Private Medical Practitioners (PMPs), were offering treatments they were not legally allowed to provide. These practitioners were found giving glucose drips, prescribing high-dose medications, and delivering care similar to that of licensed MBBS doctors, despite not having the required qualifications.
District Medical Officer Aale Srinivasulu confirmed that these actions violated health regulations. He explained that RMPs and PMPs are only permitted to offer basic or primary care. The health department had already conducted awareness programs earlier to educate them about their limits, but many ignored the warnings.
Following his instructions, a coordinated inspection of several clinics was carried out. The team seized clinics that were found breaching the regulations.
The operation included Ravikumar (In-charge DEMO), Ramakrishna (DEO), medical staff, and other health officials. The district health department has urged the public to seek treatment only from properly qualified and certified medical professionals.
