In Hyderabad, the Malkajgiri Metropolitan court has granted bail to Mohammed Azharuddin, a cricketer and Congress’s Jubilee Hills candidate. He had filed for anticipatory bail in connection with the alleged misappropriation of Rs 3.85 crore from the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).
In October, a total of four cases were filed against Azharuddin, and he received conditional bail in three cases at the Uppal police station. After listening to arguments from the public prosecutor and defense counsel, the court granted anticipatory bail to the cricketer turned politician. The court also instructed the Uppal police to serve notice to Azharuddin under CrPC section 41(A) and asked him to cooperate with the investigation.
