Hyderabad: The Azim Premji Foundation has launched a new scholarship program to support female students in Telangana. This initiative, in partnership with the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), aims to help talented girls overcome financial challenges and continue their college education.
TGCHE Chairman, Prof V Balakista Reddy, announced on Tuesday that 15,000 eligible girls will receive a yearly scholarship of Rs 30,000 until they complete their degrees. This opportunity is available to students who have finished their 10th and 12th grades in government schools and have been accepted into the first year of diploma, undergraduate, engineering, or MBBS courses at recognized institutions for the 2025–26 academic year.
The scholarship focuses on helping students from low-income families so that financial issues do not block their educational paths. Applicants need to provide documents such as recent photos, Aadhaar card, bank details, academic transcripts, and admission proof. Applications must be submitted online, and there is no fee to apply.
TGCHE officials are encouraging schools, community leaders, and others to spread the word about this initiative, ensuring that eligible students across the state can take advantage of this support. A Council spokesperson stated, “This project shows our dedication to educational equity and empowering young women through ongoing academic help.”
The Azim Premji Foundation, known for its role in education and social development, highlights that this scholarship aligns with its mission to drive systemic change and improve access to quality education.
